Riverina museums

The Museum of the Riverina, situated in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, is a social history museum that portrays the region's people, places, and significant events. It comprises two primary sites: the Historic Council Chambers and the Botanic Gardens site. The Historic Council Chambers site features touring exhibitions of national importance and local narratives reflecting life in the Riverina. It is housed in the former Historic Council Chambers, constructed in 1881 and repurposed as a museum facility in 1998. This site is also a venue for hosting numerous events, programs, and activities throughout the year. The Museum of the Riverina prioritizes accessibility, catering to visitors with diverse needs and abilities. With a collection exceeding 15,000 objects, photographs, textiles, and paper-based materials, the museum plays a vital role in narrating the region's stories.

Aside from its permanent displays, the museum offers a regional outreach service to 38 Riverina museums and features a Sporting Hall of Fame that celebrates local sports figures.
