Wakefield museums

The Wakefield Region in South Australia is rich in history and cultural heritage, with several museums and galleries showcasing the area's past. The museum, maintained by the Balaklava Museum Inc, is open on the second and fourth Sunday of each month from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm, and also by appointment for group visits.

Another notable attraction is the Port Wakefield Old Courthouse/Police Station Museum, known as the Heritage Courthouse Museum, which welcomes visitors on the first Sunday of each month from 2 pm to 4 pm, or by appointment.

Apart from these museums, the region offers diverse attractions, including the Clare Valley Art Trail with the Medika Gallery, and the Pepper Tree Trail at Brinkworth. Visitors can explore the colonial heritage of Port Wakefield township or unwind at the Port Wakefield wharf with lunch from local cafés or bakeries.
