Elliston scenic lookouts

The Elliston region in South Australia is renowned for its stunning coastal views, pristine beaches, and diverse ecosystems. Visitors can explore the area's beauty by visiting various lookouts and walking trails. The Leo Cummings Monument Lookout provides uninterrupted views of Point Drummond to the south and the rugged cliffs of Sheringa to the north, with a family of ospreys residing there. Nearby attractions include Lake Newland Conservation Park, Lock's Well, Mount Wedge, Mt Camel Beach, Murphy's Haystacks, Needle Eye Lookout at Venus Bay, and Talia Caves and Talia Beach.

The Elliston Coastal Trail, a 13.6 km walking and driving track, runs along the cliff-top coastline between Little Bay Surf Break and Cape Finnis. This trail can be experienced in its entirety or through smaller sections like the Little Bay Trail, Clifftop Trail, or beach loop, offering tracks suitable for walkers of all skill levels. For more scenic views, Locks Well and Cummings Monument at nearby Kiana are recommended lookouts. Elliston itself is a charming coastal town boasting beautiful sunsets, excellent surfing and fishing opportunities, and sightings of sea lions, dolphins, and Southern Right whales. Exploring the heritage-listed jetty and the Elliston Community Hall mural depicting the town's history is also recommended.
