Northern Grampians silo artwork

The Silo Art Trail in Central Grampians, Victoria is Australia's largest outdoor gallery, spanning over 200 kilometers and connecting multiple towns in the area. This innovative art project features renowned artists who have repurposed disused grain silos into remarkable pieces of art. Showcasing the rich heritage of Victoria's Wimmera Mallee region, the trail includes silo artworks in various towns such as Sheep Hills, Brim, Sea Lake, Albacutya, Patchewollock, Lascelles, Nullawil, Rosebery, Arkona, Goroke, Kaniva, and Rupanyup, besides the major regional center of Horsham.

The inception of the Silo Art Trail followed the success of the initial silo artwork in Brim, drawing global media attention and tourists to the region. A collaborative effort between the Yarriambiack Shire Council, Juddy Roller street art agency, Victorian Government, Australian Government, and GrainCorp led to the creation of the trail, with GrainCorp providing the silos as canvases for the artists. Renowned artists like Guido van Helten, Julia Volchkova, Fintan Magee, Matt Adnate, and others have contributed to the trail, each mural depicting a unique story of the host location, capturing the essence of the Wimmera Mallee region and its inhabitants.

Traversing the Silo Art Trail is best done over a few days, allowing visitors to tailor their journey based on silo locations and personal interests. This trail presents an excellent opportunity to explore the small towns of the Wimmera Mallee region, witness exceptional artistry, and delve into the local culture and heritage.
