Barossa Valley walking tours

Barossa Valley, located in South Australia, offers a variety of walking tours that allow visitors to explore the region's rich history, vibrant culinary scene, and stunning landscapes. One such tour is the Barossa Valley - Greenock Food & Wine Lovers Walk, a one-day, 13km walk that starts in Tanunda and ends in Greenock. The walk begins at the Tanunda Heritage Trail, where participants can admire the scenic views of vineyards, wineries, and historical 19th-century buildings along the Heysen Trail. The trail follows gently undulating back roads and tracks, providing views of the passing vineyards and natural bushland.

One of the highlights of the walk is a stop at Whistler Wines, where participants can enjoy wine tasting in their award-winning cellar door, set within a virgin Australian scrub along the iconic Seppeltsfield Road. Another notable feature of the walk is the traditional pub lunch at the recently revamped Greenock Creek Hotel, locally known as 'The Greenock'. The establishment is a center point for locals and tourists alike and is proudly family-owned and managed by Chris and Amanda Adams, who strive to involve the local community and produce in every aspect of the hotel. The tour also includes a second wine tasting and ends in Greenock.

Throughout the walk, participants have the opportunity to explore intimate cellar doors, generational food traditions, and fascinating local characters, making it a truly memorable experience.
