Horsham, a regional city in the Wimmera region of western Victoria, is surrounded by vast wheat fields, pastoral land, and colorful fields of wildflowers. In and around Horsham, you can find various wetlands and parks, such as Weir Park and Wetlands. Weir Park offers plenty of undercover barbecue and picnic facilities, playgrounds, public restrooms, and a large off-leash dog park. The Wimmera region is home to over 3,000 wetlands, which accounts for roughly 25% of Victoria's individual non-flowing wetlands.
Another nearby attraction is the Yea Wetlands, which can be accessed via the town center entrance opposite the police station on the corner of High Street or by driving out to the car park located off the Goulburn Valley Highway just west of Killingworth. The wetlands feature a visitor center, a network of walking tracks, boardwalks, and bridges throughout the area.
