The Balingup region is situated in the larger Blackwood Valley Wine Region, located approximately 250 kilometers southeast of Perth within the South West Australia Wine Zone. It shares a climate akin to Margaret River, featuring slightly more pronounced continental influences that lead to greater diurnal and annual temperature variations. With vineyards reaching altitudes of up to 340 meters, the region experiences cooler temperatures.
Focusing primarily on classic varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Chardonnay, the Balingup region also commonly cultivates Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, often blending them together. The region houses over 50 vineyards spread across 450 hectares, incorporating the historical settlements of Boyup Brook, Bridgetown, Balingup, and Nannup.
