Jimmy Pompey
Cowboy Story | $520

Artist | Jimmy Pompey says when he's painting, he thinks about playing country music, when he was a cowboy a long time ago. He was teaching himself these things, and now he has all of the memories, paintings are how he remembers the country.
Artwork | In the 1940s many Indigenous men were employed by remote desert-based stations, mustering cattle on horseback and droving large herds of animals across the vast lands to water supplies and farms.
Selina Teece Pwerle
Bush Tomato | $3400

Artist | Selina is from Ampilatwatja in the eastern central desert. Her favourite painter and inspiration was Albert Namatjira, and she remembers seeing his work when she was young. Encouraged by her artist mother, she has now developed a solid reputation as a fine artist.
Artwork | Bush Tomato plant is a shrub with purple flowers and soft leaves with rusty colourations when young. The sticky fruit, yellow when ripe, dry to
a chocolate-brown colour and have a raisin-like texture. The plant only grows in spinifex sandplain country and near mulga areas.
Janine McAullay Bott
Whaler Horse | $1200
Palm fronds (Queen Palm), Gum Nuts, 42x24x21cm
Artist | Janine was born in Perth in 1951. She creates woven animals and objects from palm fronds, local grasses, reeds, and materials such as palm trees and vines. Her work reflects her Noongar heritage, the animals and country of her ancestors.
Artwork | The Whaler horse was in the cavalry, chosen for its stamina and courage. It carried the soldiers to battle, on the fields which will forever hold the spirit of the brave horse.
