As the only biodynamic and carbon-negative winery and restaurant in the region, you can expect to be dished up only the freshest and organically sourced produce when dining at Cullen Wines’ restaurant. The meals are designed to complement their wines and feature fruit, herbs and bushtucker grown in their very own biodynamic garden. Whether you’re after a glass of local vino or simply a good place to eat in Yallingup, check out Swings & Roundabouts. With open fires, a huge lawn, music and stunning views, the venue makes for the ultimate Margaret River dining experience. For something a little different, try their wine served on tap. Located in the heart of Willyabrup Valley, Hay Shed Hill Winery’s Rustico restaurant provides Spanish cuisine paired with wines from their vineyard. The restaurant is the second venue to represent the Rustico Tapas brand made famous from its original spot at Rockingham Beach. Their delicious 5-course degustation menu is the most popular way to dine and celebrates seasonal produce from WA, such as scallops from the Abrolhos Islands. While you enjoy your degustation lunch, the little ones will be well catered for with a special 3-course kids menu featuring crowd-pleasers such as pizza and churros.
For those not wanting to go for the full five courses, they also offer a tasty tapas menu which is available Monday through to Friday. With dining rooms overlooking the vines, you’ll have the advantage of enjoying your meal amidst the serenity of the Margaret River landscape. As one of the most awarded destinations in Australia, notably making the top five ‘Regional WA Restaurants’ in Gourmet Australia, Vasse Felix offers the finest experience of Margaret River’s wine, food, culture and history. Its restaurant, open for lunch service, showcases regional produce with a Modern Australian, contemporary menu. Choose a meal from Vasse Felix’s à la carte dining menu or embark on a culinary journey selected by the chefs (with optional wine pairing). With verandahs overlooking Karri forests, an onsite art gallery, as well as current and museum release wines on offer, Leeuwin Estate is a must-visit attraction if you are in the region. You can now book in for lunch at their restaurant, with the Chef’s three-course set Winter Menu ($89pp plus wine) available. Home to Australia’s largest underground barrel cellar, Voyager Estate’s independent and family owned winery offers organically farmed wine alongside an exquisite dining menu. A popular favourite is booking in for a private tasting, followed by a wine-inspired lunch. Or, alternatively, for the ultimate culinary experience, indulge in the Discovery menu designed by Head Chef Santi Fernandez where you’ll be served four courses, each inspired by one of the Estate’s wines ($110, $140 with wine pairings). Using locally sourced produce wherever possible, Arimia Estate’s ethos is all about the positive impact farms have on the community, through the production of wine and food. From their wine and olive oil, to the pork and trout they dish up, everything is either produced onsite or sourced from sustainably and organically farmed suppliers. Set against the backdrop of jarrah and marri forest, the rustic and cosy charm of the Nookery Café makes for an idyllic lunch spot. Sit on the alfresco patio or under their outside pergola and enjoy a meal prepared by Chef Adam Le Gallez’s kitchen team, using local meats, cheeses and seafood.
