After a sold-out school season, On Our Beach starts tomorrow at the Short Street theatre in Fremantle, and $20 tickets are up for grabs using the promo code SCOOP19.

Written by award-winning playwright, Peta Murray, On Our Beach uses innovative puppetry to immerse audiences into a story of identity and belonging. The show follows FOMO the dog on a journey through the world of a fantastical beach to discover what it is that unites us.

On Our Beach is about navigating relationships in a world that is sometimes fair and sometimes not,” Murray says. “Through games and activities, the production explores the fear that all of us experience at some point of missing out, being left out, or simply, just not being ‘in’.”

“What a magnificent show!!! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it, so many kids went home to tell parents about it as a holiday outing over the school break… truly magnificent performance.” – Rebecca, Teacher
Artistic Director of Spare Parts, Philip Mitchell, is thrilled to welcome the show to audiences. “This is officially one of the most fun works I have ever directed,” he said, “the puppets are magical, the music is uplifting, and the games and activities that are central to the experience will be joyous both for the young and the young at heart.”

Designed by Cecile Williams with music by Lee Buddle, On Our Beach showcases the performing talents of Rebecca Bradly, Shona Mae, and singer-songwriter Tani Walker.

The show is 50 minutes long and suitable for all ages, but perfect for those five and above. Performances are scheduled daily at 10am and 1pm (except Sundays and public holidays), with special twilight shows at 6.30pm on Oct 4 and 11.

The production will run until Oct 12. Tickets are available here (Scoop offer: promo code SCOOP19).
