The AFL Grand Final, one of the biggest events in the Australian social and sporting calendar, is coming up on Saturday October 24. For those of you looking for somewhere to celebrate (or cry) after the final siren, The Rechabite will be hosting the ultimate Oktoberfest party from 6pm onwards.
Oktober Haus will see all four levels of the stunning heritage venue activated with exciting offerings inspired by Germany’s most iconic cities and party hubs, Munich and Berlin. Expect a live brass 8-piece band, eight breweries, wiens, cocktails, schnapps, a full German-style menu and even a Berghain-inspired basement club.

In the main Rechabite Hall, you’ll be able to dance the night away as a big brass band performs covers of top hits and DJ Victor spins some party tunes. Eight craft breweries will be pouring steins all night long; explore brews from Beerfarm, Blasta Brewing, Heroes and Villains, Kona Brewing Co., Moon Dog Brewery, Nail Brewing, Pirate Life and Rocky Ridge Brewing Co.

Lovers of Germain cuisine will be pleased to know that Double Rainbow's chef Danny Sanchez has created a German-inspired menu especially for the event. There will be a delicious assortment of German bites on offer including Chilli kransky loaded fries, 3-cheese pretzels, mustard and sauerkraut pork wontons, and grilled bratswursts with sriracha mayo and gherkin relish.
Once you've re-fuelled, head upstairs to The Rechabite’s rooftop bar Hello Rooftop, which will become a haven of Schnapps tastings and cocktails.
Perhaps most exciting of all, the Goodwill Club basement will be transformed into Perth’s answer to Berghain; the iconic Berlin nightclub that everyone needs to visit at least once in their lifetime. Entry to this little techno hub will be through the back entry by Lock Lane.
Not only will it be the ultimate party destination to blow off steam after the AFL Grand Final, it’s also one last chance for you to do the rounds in your dirndl or lederhosen, as you explore the four exciting areas on offer at this multi-level festival.
