Subiaction and Kanga Markets have teamed up to bring back the Subiaco Suitcase Markets to Subiaco's Market Square Park on November 20. Find a bargain or treasure at this market day, with the aim to upcycle, sell your pre-loved goodies, and look out for the environment too - just bring a suitcase filled with things that you'd like to give another lease on life, or shop from the plenitudes of other goods on offer.
Local artists have painted and decorated vintage suitcases - 19 in total - and placed them in shops and bars around the City centre to promote this fantastic event. After the markets, these cases will be donated to charities and foundations for auction to raise money.
As well as the traditional Kanga Markets market stalls, the Suitcase Market will have its own space in Market Square Park. For $10 you can bring along two of your suitcases, full with any household treasures, hobby art and craft items, bric a brac and clothing to sell for some Christmas cash - and even offer some interesting gifts or collectables for buyers.
The aim of the game for the Suitcase Markets is recycling, upcycling, downsizing and having fun - whilst helping the environment.
