Murwillumbah Surrounds parks

Murwillumbah, located in New South Wales, is surrounded by nature, offering visitors a chance to explore beautiful parks and national parks. Two notable parks in the area are Wollumbin National Park and Nightcap National Park. Wollumbin National Park (formerly known as Mount Warning National Park) is a 4,117-hectare park located 12 kilometers southwest of Murwillumbah. This park is of great significance to Aboriginal people, particularly the Bundjalung nation, as a place of sacred ceremonies linked to traditional law and custom. Wollumbin National Park is home to over 200 rare and endangered plant and animal species, making it one of the most biodiverse areas in Australia. The park's spectacular peak, Wollumbin, rises to a height of 1,157 meters above sea level and can be viewed from various vantage points in the surrounding massive crater. Visitors can enjoy family-friendly activities such as the Lyrebird track, a short walk through lush rainforest, and then head to Korrumbyn Creek or Breakfast Creek picnic areas for lunch.

Nightcap National Park is another natural attraction in the region, offering visitors a chance to explore the beautiful sub-tropical rainforests and riverside parks. The park is part of the massive crater surrounding Wollumbin and provides a range of vantage points to view the spectacular peak. In addition to these parks, Murwillumbah also offers caravan camping opportunities for visitors who enjoy a more immersive outdoor experience. The town is located on the northern banks of the Tweed River, providing an excellent base for adventures in the stunning natural surroundings.
