Evans Head, located in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, is a coastal town with a rich history and stunning natural beauty.

It offers a range of attractions and activities for visitors of all ages, from relaxing on the beach to exploring the town's heritage sites and enjoying its shops, cafes, and restaurants.

The town is named after Lt Evans, RN, a marine surveyor who conducted the first marine survey of the area's coastline. Today, Evans Head is home to several heritage-listed sites, including the Evans Head Memorial Aerodrome.

According to the 2016 census, Evans Head had a population of 2,843 people, with 4.5% being Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals. The majority of the population (85.0%) was born in Australia and spoke English at home (90.7%). The most common religious affiliations were No Religion (29.0%), Anglican (21.9%), and Catholic (20.9%).

Evans Head's attractions include a beautiful curved beach that is popular for fishing, surfing, and swimming. The town also offers the Illawong Hotel, an RSL club, and one of the largest holiday parks in NSW. The Evans Head Holiday Park has nearly 600 sites and is conveniently located near all town amenities, attracting a larger population during school holidays. History enthusiasts can explore the wreck of the timber schooner Pilot, which is visible on the beach during times of high erosion. The aerodrome is home to a museum with authentic aircraft on display, including one of the few retired F-111 aircraft in Australia.
