To get to Crescent Bay and Mount Brown, visitors need to go to Port Arthur, Tasmania. From there, they should take the first left onto Safety Cove Road and continue until it ends at the Remarkable Caves carpark. The trailhead is located 50m before the carpark and heads east towards Mount Brown. The first 1km of the hike crosses undulating sand dunes covered in coastal heath vegetation. The walk from Remarkable Cave car park to Crescent Bay takes about 1 hour 30 mins until reaching a junction. Visitors can either head south toward Mount Brown or turn northeast and follow the signs to the beach. The trail is moderately challenging, with steep sand dunes to climb.
