Description

The Booroomba Rocks Walk is a popular trail in Namadgi National Park, known for its panoramic and breathtaking views.

It is a 2.6-kilometer trail with an elevation gain of 185 meters, rated as easy to moderately challenging.

To reach the trailhead, go to Booroomba Rocks car park, accessible via a 3-kilometer gravel road. It's recommended to check the road conditions beforehand, especially if you have a hire car or limited clearance.

Starting at the car park, follow a narrow dirt track through a burnt forest from the 2020 bushfires. The initial 180 meters are flat, then the climb begins with well-maintained steps. The track is in good condition even after heavy rain, making it suitable for all hikers.

As you continue, you'll pass large boulders that indicate the upcoming scenery at the top. After climbing for about 300 meters, the track briefly goes downhill before flattening. The walk has some steep parts but is well-maintained. At the top of the granite cliffs, you can freely explore and enjoy the stunning views of the city and Brindabella Ranges.

Exploring the top involves boulder hopping, but it's an enjoyable experience. Be cautious of moving boulders. There are flat areas among the boulders to sit and take in the scenery, with the first accessible point just 50 meters from the end of the trail sign.

For further exploration, you can venture higher up the ridge towards the northern summit with careful rock hopping. It is recommended to do the hike during sunrise or sunset for the best views.

The descent is easy, with a few uneven rocky steps but generally a well-maintained path
