Description
My art inspiration has been the beautiful countryside full of the towering trees and magnificent wildflower displays we are lucky to have in the Margaret River region.
Mostly self taught, I create a distinctive style of artwork using alcohol inks as my main medium. The inks are of an extremely loose, fluid nature so I like to think of myself as an intuitive, semi abstract artist navigating the spectrum between abstract and representation creating my own style.
Though, I have spent a lot of hours practicing and learning how to move and manipulate the inks to form the interpretation or impression that is intended for my artwork. Most of the time the inks have a different idea which allows me to act and react using my intuitive instinct to create art that could be quite different to what I originally intended.
Pushing this medium to a new level, demonstrating new techniques also allows me to be fearless to see what becomes of it. This also helps me seek endless possibilities in creating my art. Inks can be very translucent and by spending the time to layer the ink colours I can create the illusion of movement, depth and texture in my artwork.
