Cobourg Peninsula, also known as Garig Gunak Barlu National Park, is a remote and pristine area located 570 km northeast of Darwin.

It is characterized by its indented coastline, sandy beaches, mangroves, rainforest patches, lagoons, coral reefs, and rocky cliffs. The park covers approximately 5000 square kilometers and is home to the world's largest herd of wild banteng and the Northern Territory's largest marine park. The Traditional Owners of the area work closely with authorities to preserve the ecological significance of the region.
