Lyell Deer Sanctuary

Welcome to the Lyell Deer Sanctuary, located in the beautiful Samford Valley just thirty minutes north of Brisbane!

Here, you can experience the magic of interacting with rescued deer, goats, cows, chickens, guinea pigs, guinea fowl, peacocks, and even a lizard!

At the Lyell Deer Sanctuary, you can enjoy a peaceful and serene setting, where you can cuddle, sit with and hand-feed the deer. You can even bring your own picnic and use our undercover seating area or outside picnic tables. Just remember: no picnicking in the paddocks with the deer, as they may snatch your feast and run off with it before you can even pose for a picture! We also provide complimentary tea and coffee-making facilities, as well as cold drinks and ice blocks for sale.

The Lyell Deer Sanctuary is available for group and coach bookings, school/vacation care excursions, weddings, birthday parties, workshops, and venue hire. We’re open Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 4pm, and no booking is required. Admission is $5 per adult and $3 per child (2-16 yrs), and deer pellets are $1 per bag. Weekday VIP appointments are also available via text, email or contact page.
