For 16 days only, 144 artists based in Australia’s Southwest will welcome the public into their usually private art studios, where visitors can talk to them about their inspiration, process and style.
This is Australia's largest Open Studios event, attracting up to 145,000 studio visits from 15,000 people and featuring emerging and established artists from the City of Busselton to the Shire of Augusta, Margaret River. This year will include four Indigenous artists, thirty-one artists participating for the first time, while eleven will have participated for every year since the event began in 2014.
The studios are spread across all kinds of whacky environments, including hay sheds and cow barns, purpose-built idylls, converted water tanks, sea containers and renovated train carriages. There are several art mediums to pick from, including painters, potters, printmakers, milliners, mosaicists, timber craftsmanship, textiles, illustrations and installations.
