Description

Mount Augustus National Park is a protected area located in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia.

The park is centred around Mount Augustus, a sandstone and conglomerate formation that rises out of the surrounding plains. Tourists visiting the national park can stay at the nearby Mount Augustus Station homestead, which offers comfortable accommodation in the form of "Donga-style" rooms. Mount Augustus was first climbed by Francis Thomas Gregory in 1858 and named after his brother. The pastoral lease, Mount Augustus Station, was settled in 1887 and a portion of it was released to create the national park in 1989. Visitors to Mount Augustus National Park can expect a unique experience and breathtaking views.
