Whether it’s a classic spaghetti or ravioli with a funky filling, Fremantle has no shortage of places to find the best pasta dishes. Here's our run-down on the places still making delicious handmade pasta.

La Sosta

Located on Market Street, La Sosta plates up stylish, authentic pasta made in-house with fresh seafood. The menu has a wide range of entrees, from grilled prawn pastas to swordfish carpaccio. The restaurant offers fine dining with a balcony view, perfect for a date night or some quality time with family. Treat yourself to an Italian-style dessert, with classic tiramisu or their home-made ice cream, available in vanilla, chocolate, and hazelnut. Book a reservation at La Sosta on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 10pm, and Friday to Sunday from 11:45am to 10pm.

Capri

A family-run business that has been thriving since the 50s, Capri feeds Freo with Northern Italian cuisine made from the heart. Whether you’re hungry for meat ravioli or squid spaghetti, Capri also offers special pricing of just $12 for children 12 years and younger. Nestled on South Terrace, you can try pasta that's stood the test of time from 12pm to 2pm and 5pm to 9pm, with Mondays exclusively open for evening dining.

Nunzio’s

Disguised as a cozy Fremantle home, Nunzio’s is a hidden gem on Essex Street. The family-run and owned restaurant prides itself in serving homemade, upmarket Italian cuisine using only the freshest ingredients and locally sourced seafood. Try their popular red emperor fish linguine, and top it off with their limoncello meringue sponge. Merging the worlds of food and art, Nunzio’s also has a gallery where artworks are available for viewing and purchasing in the restaurant. Nunzio’s is open Tuesday through to Friday from 5pm to 8:30pm, extending til 9:30pm on Saturdays and exclusive 12pm to 2pm opening hours on Friday.

Parlapa

Located on William Street, Parlapa serves comfort food with an Italian flare. Open every weekday between 7.30am to 2pm, the eatery has breakfast options available 'til noon. They serve authentic Italian classics such as handmade potato gnocchi, spaghetti carbonara, and if you can handle the heat, their ‘nduja fettuccine for a spicy twist. Parlapa also has a soup menu that they switch up daily which is served with their fresh Italian bread.

Pasta Addiction

In the middle of The University of Notre Dame on Mouat Street, Pasta Addiction has become a Freo fan-favourite. Open Monday to Friday between 8am to 6pm, Pasta Addiction adds a customisable element to their menu, where you can pair whatever style of pasta and sauce to create your perfect bowl. As the restaurant makes its pasta fresh every day, you can request different colours of pasta using ingredients such as squid ink, spinach, tomato, poppy seed or saffron. For those who are Italian food novices, you can rely on their ‘Seriously Addictive’ menu, consisting of universally loved pastas – from veggie and meat lasagnas to a chicken pesto carbonara.
