Subiaco-based Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company are kicking off 2023 with the world premiere of their newest production, Hide the Dog. A colourful and exciting tale that combines adventure with Māori and Aboriginal storytelling, Hide the Dog features two best friends on a thrilling quest to save the world's last Tasmanian tiger. The show is the perfect opportunity to celebrate culture and the magic of theatre for kids and families alike. Tickets are available now for showings beginning March 1st, live at UWA's Dolphin Theatre.

Dodging determined hunters, best friends Niarra and Te Umuroa set sail for Aotearoa to hide their newly discovered Tasmanian tiger companion. But hunters aren’t the only ones on this tiger’s tail; the pair will have to outwit Māori gods and palawa spirits to save their furry friend.

Intrepid young explorers will delight in this celebration of adventure, friendship and the power of culture – wherever you find it.

Yirra Yaakin has joined forces with Tasmanian playwright Nathan Maynard (trawlwoolway pakana) and Aotearoa (New-Zealand) writer Jamie McCaskill (Māori) to present Hide the Dog. Featuring beautifully crafted set design by Māori designer Jane Hakaraia and directed by Isaac Drandic (Noongar), this is Yirra Yaakin's first ever trans-Tasman collaboration and is not to be missed.
