Originally constructed as a home and horse stables in the late 1800s, this historic building was transformed into The Stables Bar, opening its doors in April 2013.
Situated at the end of a cobblestone laneway off Hay Street, The Stables Bar features two levels of drinking and dining experiences, including a sophisticated outdoor terrace with panoramic views of the city skyline and a relaxed, landscaped courtyard.
Inside, the transformation seamlessly blends the building's rich past with a modern approach. The structure's original fittings have been retained, including beams and exposed brick walls from the 1800s, and have been complemented by modern furnishings for an eclectic blend of old and new.
The Stables Bar has the capacity to hold a variety of different functions, from stand-up events for 20 to 500 people to more formal seated lunch or dinner functions for up to 150.
The venue has a dedicated functions team to handle everything from the initial phone call to greeting guests as they arrive. The Bar regularly books out the whole second floor for functions of 250 guests, but is also happy to accommodate smaller groups who are just looking for a space to entertain clients in a more informal setting.
Food and beverages at The Stables Bar are of the highest standard, from a three course sit-down meal to a variety of canapes for a cocktail event. The venue can also offer pop-up food stations including oyster shucking and paella, where guests get to watch chefs in action.
A full beverage menu is available for functions, with clients able to select anything from the house pours to premium and reserved wines, and popular cocktails.
