Three local chefs recommend their best takeaways dishes

Restaurants may be shut to diners for now, but behind closed doors, Perth's leading chefs continue to serve up their signature flavours as part of their newly crafted takeaway menus.

This is what they recommend:

Pork Ragu Cavatelli from King Somm

It’s hard to beat a creamy bowl of pasta when you’re in need of some comforting and King Somm’s pizza and pasta menu certainly delivers (literally). Chef Ben Atkinson recommends the Cavatelli with Pork Ragu, Italian Kale and Pangrattato (bread crumbs). Or, if you appreciate a good deal, you can choose any of their pizzas and they’ll match it with their wine of the day for $40.

They are open for takeaway from Wednesday to Sunday during dinner service and will deliver to select areas including Bayswater, Mount Lawley and Inglewood. Check with them for the full list.

Slow-roasted Lamb from Odyssea

Alan Spagnolo, Executive chef at Odyssea in City Beach, brings you the perfect Autumn dish – slow-roasted Suffolk lamb scotch fillet with a medley of seasonal vegetables (i.e. baby carrots, peas, sugar snap peas and courgette). And of course, lamb wouldn’t be complete without a hint of mint - Spagnolo dresses his in a house-made Salsa Verde and mint sauce. Who else is ready to tuck in?

Thai Chicken Salad from Matilda Bay

With takeaway offerings based on their Autumn A La Carte Menu, Elissa Prus, head chef at Matilda Bay said that the dishes are prepared with ‘small twists’ to ensure the meals can be enjoyed just as much at home as they are when dining in. Her recommendation? Go for the Thai Style Chicken Salad.

“[It’s] a great Asian Fusion blend of spicy coconut with the delicious crunch of the sesame cracker.”

Matilda Bay is open for orders Wednesday to Sunday from 4pm - 8.30pm. Delivery is available for orders over $45, with a $5 fee within 5km and $10 delivery fee within 10km.
