1. Mr Scruff

Mr Scruff has stamina – he's famed for keeping his DJ sets going all night long with a mix of African, Latin, 60s R&B, hip-hop and breakbeat jams. "For anyone who loves a four-hour super-cool DJ set – yes, please!" says Sarah. Feb 14.

2. Daniel Rossen

You'll recognise his work as the singer/songwriter and lead guitarist for Grizzly Bear and Department of Eagles. According to Sarah, this seated acoustic solo is "simply beautiful." Feb 17.

Tinashe

3. Tinashe

Industry insiders have suggested the 21-year-old R&B singer is the next Beyoncé – yep, it's a big claim, but we think it might be deserved. "It's sexy alternative R&B with the right mix of hip-hop attitude and pop diva. And those dance moves – oh boy!" says Sarah. Feb 19.

4. Parquet Courts

"These guys remind me of The Clash and the post-punk London scene," says Sarah. The Brooklyn band has an instantly addictive garage rock sound. Feb 27.

Neneh Cherry

5. Neneh Cherry & RocketNumberNine

Sarah can barely contain herself while describing Neneh Cherry. "She's so hip it hurts," she says. "Spanning electronica and pop with an alternative twist, this is so goddamn cool." Feb 28 and Mar 1.
