As Perth welcomes in the summer and Christmas rounds the corner, ‘tis the season to get outside and spread the Yule spirit. What better way to ignite Christmas wonder than with a tour of Perth’s magical Christmas light displays? Here are some exciting displays that will have you feeling like a kid on Christmas morning.

City of Stirling – Home for Christmas

Be delighted by the glittering displays across the City of Stirling as they welcome in the festive season with their Home for Christmas program. Make a Christmas wish upon a light-up star in Inglewood, stroll through a giant gift box in Tuart Hill and admire the lights and over-sized ornaments in the Aussie Christmas gumtree in Doubleview, all on display throughout December.

Be dazzled after dark by local artist VJ Zoo’s projections as they light up the buildings of Mt Lawley and Scarborough on weekends.

All displays are free to enjoy! See more here.

City of Perth Lights Trail

With more than half a million lights and hundreds of decorations adorning the city streets, the City of Perth Lights Trail is a spectacle not to be missed. With four radiant walking trails to pick from, visit icons like a five-metre-tall swan in Elizabeth Quay or a shimmering peacock made up of 2300 lights on Wellington Street any night of the week from 6:00pm. Start your trek on the luminous Northbridge trail at the rusty Holden Ute at the WA Museum Boola Bardip and wind your way through the ethereal, 32m Constellation Tunnel in Yagan Square, before finishing up at Perth Train Station. Hop over to Raine Square to take on the (Blue) CBD Trail and head to Murray Street Mall to find a glittery gift.

Be sure to go past Elizabeth Quay and take the Red Trail from Hay Street Mall to Santa’s Sleigh in Heritage square, where you'll find the perfect place to get a snap with Santa. Visitors can take in the gorgeous scenes while being entertained by roaming entertainers on Friday and Saturday nights. All the trails are low impact and wheelchair friendly, but if you are looking for something a little shorter, try out the Lotterywest Lights Trail in Claisebrook or the Micro Trail in West Perth. With no entry fees, visitors can enjoy this alongside ample free parking options.
