Moreover, visitors who love bushwalking are also catered for here, as there is easy access to the Valley of the Eagles walk from Bennetts Gorge picnic area. Bennetts Gorge Picnic Area is open to visitors all year round, but it is recommended to visit during the cooler months, between March and October. During the warmer months, the temperature can reach up to 40 °C, making it too hot and uncomfortable. The cooler months, on the other hand, are perfect for bushwalking opportunities, which is the best time to explore the area.

To get to Bennetts Gorge Picnic Area, take the Kidman Way north, then take a left at the signpost marked Gundabooka National Park.
