As its name suggests, The Stables Bar was in fact a horse stables in its past life - one of the very first in Perth.
In 1894, local businessman Jonathon Butterworth purchased the site and began construction of the landmark residence, and in 1898 added a farm and hardware store.
In 2012, the building transformed into The Stables Bar, two levels of bar and dining experiences in a rustic, sophisticated setting.
