Lucky Chan's
Lucky Chan’s rooftop encapsulates both the eccentric energy of the Harajuku fashion district, with a newly-updated Indiana Jones-style jungle flair. With its neon-lit bar and future funk tunes, it’s not hard to see why they were awarded Best Themed Venue in 2015. Enjoy their famous cocktails, each with a unique personality of its own – from the Harajuku Hana to the Matcha Mama - and if you're feeling adventurous, their boozy bubble teas are a fantastic pairing for their dumplings and other light bites. Open Tuesday to Thursday, 5:30 to 10:30pm; Fri and Sat, 5pm to midnight.
Hadiqa
True to its name – which is the Arabic word for garden,
Hadiqa rooftop bar is an oasis among the concrete jungle of Perth. Winning Best Cocktail Bar, Restaurant and Head Chef awards in previous years, this triple threat has plenty to offer. Take your pick of their artisanal cocktails served in gold-rimmed Moroccan tea glasses, and enjoy their spice-heavy menu of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Greek flavours. If you're looking for a fun night out, Hadiqa also offers cocktail trees, served in ornate glasses perfect for sharing. Open Thurs, 4 to9pm; Fri, 12pm until late and Sat, 4pm until late.
Songbird
Dress to impress and enjoy spectacular Swan River views at the Ritz-Carlton's rooftop bar, Songbird. Winner of the Bar & Pub Interior Design Award in 2020, this sleek venue complements its interior with a cocktail menu inspired by native Australian bird life (we recommend the Rainbow Lorikeet, and the Honeyeater mocktail is perfect if you're staying sensible). Their bar menu is grazing-focused, with a combination of international flavours made with the best WA produce. Open Friday and Saturday, 4pm until late.
Rooftop at QT
The Rooftop at QT boasts an 18
th-floor view and an impressive array of accolades - including Bar of the Year in 2022 from the Australian Hotels Association. Their bar food menu is perfect for grazing and sharing, including oysters, jalapeno arancini and funky cheeseburger spring rolls, and their cocktail menu includes a curated margarita collection alongside all of your favourite classics. Open Thurs, 5 to 10pm; Fri, 3pm until midnight and Sat, 3pm until midnight.
Mechanics' Institute
Mechanics' Institute sits atop 222 William St, with a rooftop terrace looking back over the Northbridge cultural precinct and the city skyline. This little bar took home the title of the nation’s Best Small Bar in 2021, with their moody interior and rotating cocktail list. Now partnering with Vice Burgers, Mechanics' invites guests to enjoy a pint and a bite with a 'sing-out-loud sountrack' and good vibes. Open Tues to Thurs 4pm until late; Fri 2pm to 12am; Sat 12pm to 12am, and Sun 3pm to 12am.
